We use two different types of filling material in our office. Both serve the purpose of repairing a decayed or broken tooth. There are advantages and disadvantages to both types. Dr. Patel will discuss these options and decide which is best for you.

Amalgam is a silver colored filling, made from mercury and two other metals usually tin or copper. Some of the advantages of silver fillings are low cost, strength and durability.

Composite is a tooth colored resin material that is bonded to the tooth. Advantages of composites are minimal tooth preparation, strength, and esthetics.
